The worst thing when you’re middle-aged is working hard and getting nowhere. You’re good at your job, you’re getting paid pretty well, but your mortgage is still huge and retirement’s coming up fast in the distance. What are you supposed to do, stuck in a huge machine, running to stand still? How can you get out of it?

This is how Christy and I felt, and when Covid hit, everything got a lot harder. The TV industry collapsed and for 9 months we had no income at all. It was a huge wake-up call. I couldn’t stand the idea of just scraping by anymore, I wanted control over our money, I wanted some abundance for once! And I wanted to believe that I was more than just a tiny cog in someone else’s machine, that I had something special to offer.
So in 2023 I started an experiment. I decided to post a video across all social media platforms every weekday for a year. No expectations. No excuses.

It was really tough. Starting with no followers and growing painfully slowly. Feeling embarrassed, but doing it anyway. Having bad days where I wanted to chuck it all in. Getting to 10 o’clock some nights and not having done anything for the next day.


Come rain, shine or 18 hour filming day - I made a video and put it out there. Through the process, I realised that I enjoyed helping people. Giving them advice that could make their lives easier. And when I got a nice comment on those early videos, it was the best feeling in the world.

I stuck at it and now a few years later, I’ve built an online following of over 80,000 and a digital business that’s growing stronger all the time. Most importantly, I got out of the machine. I found a way to feel free. The future feels brighter now. And the best thing is I’m doing it all by helping people.
